But you’ll have to hurry if you wish to see the 7-planet alignment that happens for one night only
Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Venus, Neptune, Mercury and Saturn will align in the sky on Friday February 28th and be visible across Norfolk. There’s nowhere better to experience the view than in Brisley, with it’s Dark Skies policy in force. Although the planets will be visible in cities and light-polluted areas the best sightings will be in the darker locations. You can choose from various options at Big Sky Brisley, either staying in the warmth of The Huddle viewing the panoramic sky through the floor to ceiling glass, or venture to one of our many public access areas.

The next major planetary alignment of five or more planets will happen in October 2028, followed by another in February 2034. However a seven-planet spectacle like this won’t happen again for another 15 years.
All 7 planets will be visible to the naked eye other than Uranus and Neptune, which will require a telescope to see.
Six of the planets have been seen vividly in our skies throughout January and February and will remain, albeit a little trickier to see, when Mercury make’s it’s appearance just above the horizon. The last to join the Planet Parade will be a rare opportunity to see a multitude of Solar System worlds in the same view!
The best time to see the rare alignment of the 7 planets on Friday 28th February is 5.30 pm, just after sunset and all fingers crossed for a dry, clear evening.

Beautiful displays of the Northern Lights, or aurora borealis, were seen in the panoramic skies over Big Sky Brisley during 2024. The chances of seeing these natural light shows in 2025 are greater as the Sun’s activity reaches its highest level. Perhaps best seen through a phone camera, because cameras on devices are able to view more light than the human eye, it is also safe to view the displays with the naked eye. Looking forward to hearing about many more viewings of the aurora from our guests, some with marvellous tales of walking along our footpath in the dead of night to a special spot for a truly memorable experience.
